Jackson Arnold looks to be the missing piece for the Tigers this season.
The Auburn Tigers are a more talented team than they were two years and even last year. This is especially true at the playmaking position of wide receiver. Cam Coleman should make a big jump in his sophomore year along with Malcolm Simmons and Perry Thompson. Also, the transfer portal additions of Eric Singleton Jr. and Horatio Fields gives the Tigers possibly their best group of receivers since 2004.
The key to a successful season for Auburn will be the quarterback position. It has been a struggle for the position since the departure of Bo Nix after the 2021 season. Auburn fans began to become frustrated with Hugh Freeze due to the inconsistent play of Peyton Thorne the last two seasons. Now enter Jackson Arnold. The Oklahoma Sooner transfer has the talent to be the quarterback this Auburn team needs. He was one of the top quarterback prospects not just in Texas but nationally for the 2023 recruiting class. He was not helped out much with an ineffective receiving group at Oklahoma. That will not be the case for this season.
