Queen Letizia Shows Love for Spanish Luxury Shoe Brand Magrit

Queen Letizia of Spain attended the celebration of the 2024-2025 academic year of the College of Europe on Friday in Bruges, Belgium. The royal dressed for the occasion, wearing an elegant blue midi dress by Carolina Herrera with beige slingback heels from the Spanish luxury shoe brand Magrit.

The queen attended the gathering with her husband, King Felipe VI, and they coordinated in different shades of blue, and kept their footwear traditional and classic. She has worn Magrit’s shoes previously, and for Friday’s outing, she opted for their Carlota style in the color beige.

The Carlota is a slingback kitten heel with a pointed toe made of blush-colored napa leather and a tasteful and comfortable heel. The shoes feature a pointed-toe style with a slingback design, complete with a barely-there elastic band on the inside of the foot. The shoes are also available in various colors, including nude, black, red and brown, and retail for approximately $335. She complemented her footwear with a matching handbag, opting for the brand’s Dory style, which is crafted from leather with silver accents.

For her ensemble, she chose a Carolina Herrera midi dress in a rich, delphinium blue shade. The dress featured a structured silhouette, a crewneck neckline, while the ties on the short sleeves added a soft, feminine touch. The waist seam gave the sheath style some definition, while the hem falling below the knee gave the dress a more formal feel. The dress was originally $2,290, but it’s on sale at Neiman Marcus for $1,374.

Queen Letizia wore the same Magrit shoes when she visited the Mind, Brain, and Behavior Research Center at the University of Granada in April. She wore the patent leather nude version when she attended a performance of the opera Il Trittico at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao in November. While slingback heels have been popular for decades, the style has gained significant momentum as a go-to trend among celebrities and fashion brands over the last few years.

The Spanish luxury shoe brand Magrit was founded in 1929 and became known for its handcrafted women’s shoes, made in Elda, Spain. The company has a long history of crafting footwear for prestigious fashion houses. José Amat founded the company, and now his great-grandfather, Pepe Amat, is the current owner and creative director of Magrit. Pepe and his brother Manolo are now the third generation of the Amat family to lead the company.
