LONDON — The annual Serpentine Summer Party has become a meeting ground for members of the art world, but on Tuesday it was the fashion crowd that took over and made it theirs.
Guests included Dilara Findikoglu, Harris Reed, David Koma, Conner Ives, Han Chong, Charles Jeffrey, Patrick McDowell, Daniel Lee, Chet Lo and Peter Dundas.
“Having been part of the Serpentine for a number of years, I think it’s the party of the summer season, but it’s changed. This year was a lot more fashion focused and less about the artists and more about who was there and the who’s who of the fashion world,” said Oliver Marques, an art collector.

The midsummer bash was cohosted by Cate Blanchett in an oceanic-inspired look from Dilara Findikoglu. She was joined by Michael R. Bloomberg, chairman of Serpentine’s board of trustees; Bettina Korek, Serpentine chief executive officer, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Serpentine’s artistic director.
The soiree celebrated the new pavilion designed by Marina Tabassum and her firm, Marina Tabassum Architects.
“The pavilion is here for a certain period of time, so we focused on the idea of time and temporality. Architecture is quite often about continuity and leaving behind a legacy is always done with architecture, but we thought it’s a temporary building, so had this idea of time and that’s why we created a capsule,” said the Bangladeshi-born architect.
Tabassum titled her creation “A Capsule in Time” and said it’s a way to capture energy and moments.

“The Serpentine Pavilion is a very interesting commission. All architects are always looking toward who will be the next one, so for us to have this opportunity and to build it here was absolutely special,” she added.
Tabassum wanted to honor her heritage at the summer party and wore a Jamdani sari, which is a traditional Bangladeshi weaving done by artisans from the South Rupshi of Narayanganj in Bangladesh.
Inside the pavilion, a biryani station was set up serving lamb and vegetarian biryani, while crisply dressed waiters served beef carpaccio, Whispering Angel rosé and Ruinart Champagne.
At the back of Tabassum’s design, a deliciously long table of desserts was being carefully watched by guests on diets with watering mouths and was only touched by the non-fashion crowd, who instead opted for Champagne and sneakily smoked cigarettes, which were banned on the grounds of the pavilion.

Designer Harris Reed was running around the pavilion with actor Eiza Gonzalez, who he dressed in a black and gold number from his fall 2025 collection.
“I chose the dress for her because I love someone who can be completely confident, [even in an] almost half naked [dress]. She oozes of power and we tried on multiple looks, but this was the most pared back look I’ve done. I had a lot of fun playing with the contour of the body and the gold leaf without relying on a massive silhouette to steal the show,” said Reed, wearing one of his own Nina Ricci designs.
Georgian-born designer David Koma attended with Georgia May Jagger and Cambryan Sedlick, both wearing his designs.
“It’s a summer party, but I didn’t want to wear something floral,” said Jagger, who instead wore a black dress with a black rose from Koma’s resort 2026 collection that’s debuting this week.

Sedlick took a night off from his skateboarding gear and put on a tailored ensemble. “It feels very uniform and structured to how my body fits. I usually go with a classic T-shirt and jeans, but this is making me feel very good about myself,” he said.
Designer Rebecca Vallance also took the gothic route when dressing Kelly Osbourne in a black strapless dress.
“I fully trust Rebecca, so I’m like, ‘Whatever you want me to wear, I will wear.’ Every time I put on one of her dresses, without fail, I feel confident and ready for the day,” said Osbourne, who met the designer through Nicky Hilton Rothschild.
The model Adot Gak showed up in her uniform of white — a Sydney Lane dress with 31-carat Allison Quaid diamond earrings.

“I’m always wearing white,” she said, sharing that she will be spending her summer on the private island of Mustique.
Lacoste’s creative director Pelagia Kolotouros had made her way from Paris for the Serpentine Summer Party and she was on memo for the British weather and for the start of the Wimbledon Championships in her linen jacket and pleated shorts.
She said Tabassum’s pavilion got her thinking about her next show. “I’m always looking for the next set design for the show,” she added.
Designer Conner Ives, whose “Protect the Dolls” T-shirts have gone viral with the likes of Pedro Pascal, Addison Rae and Tilda Swinton, said he will be sneaking away for five days to Ischia in Italy for his boyfriend’s birthday.

“[The T-shirts] have a life of their own now. I’m really humbled just by the community response to everything. As of yesterday, we had surpassed 1 million pounds in sales from the T-shirt. It just feels really great to be doing something when it’s so needed,” he said.
Ives, the designer with sustainability always on top of his mind, was wearing a Prada jacket that he wore to his senior prom that he bought from eBay. “I was always such an eBay girl and that’s how I got here, the whole vintage thing was my main inspiration,” he said.
The night ended with muggy weather and guests swapping their heels for flats as soon as they exited the party.
