The Los Angeles Sparks snapped a four-game skid on Thursday with an 85-75 victory over the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Though the teams traded leads through three quarters, the Sparks turned the tide in the fourth, outscoring the Fever 35-17 to pull away and improve to 5-11 on the season.
Despite committing 19 turnovers, Los Angeles leaned on its backcourt tandem to surge late. Azura Stevens paced the Sparks with 23 points and seven rebounds, while Kelsey Plum poured in 21 points and dished six assists.
Afterward, Plum summed up the win in a concise reflection, saying, “I thought we grew up tonight.”

At Washington, Plum left as the NCAA Division I women’s all-time leading scorer (3,527 career points), a record later broken by the Fever’s Caitlin Clark (3,951 career points).
Plum was selected No. 1 overall in the 2017 draft by the San Antonio Stars (now Las Vegas Aces) and earned WNBA All-Rookie honors that same year.
After overcoming a 2020 Achilles injury, she captured back-to-back WNBA titles with the Aces in 2022 and 2023, also collecting All-Star Game MVP honors in 2022.
Since joining the Sparks in a high-profile offseason trade, Plum has served as the team’s offensive engine and emotional leader.
Following the win in Indianapolis, Los Angeles sits just two games behind the 7-7 Golden State Valkyries for fourth in the Western Conference standings.
With the All-Star break approaching (July 19) and playoff hopes hanging by a thread, Los Angeles has six games remaining before the midseason showcase.
Los Angeles returns home Sunday to host the Chicago Sky, aiming to extend this newfound resilience.
