John Fluevog Shoes Launches Boot With Jack White’s Third Man Records

John Fluevog Shoes is celebrating its 55th anniversary by releasing “The Idol Jack,” a boot created in collaboration with Third Man Records. The new boots are inspired by the record label’s founder Jack White around 17 years after the release of the original boots that were also inspired by the singer.

Now Fluevog and the rockstar’s record label partnered up to create a bold new black and yellow colorway of the Vogs. White is currently on the road for his “No Name” tour and has already been wearing the new boots on stage, giving fans a glimpse of the shoe they will be able to own when they become available on Friday.

“I love music and am so blessed to have worked with so many talented people in that industry,” John Fluevog, founder of John Fluevog Shoes, said to WWD sister publication FN. “This collaboration came about so naturally. We’ve done little projects here and there and been friends with Third Man Records and Jack White for many years.

“This boot just made perfect sense from the start,” he added. “Man, many times I’ve dreamed of owning, starting and running a record label, but I could never do it as well as the folks at TMR. They’re the best, and so are these boots.”

The ankle boots are complete with croc embossed leather uppers, and feature a narrow, pointed-toe design. The yellow details on the shoe make it stand out, while the metal hardware give them some edge, and the Fluevog x Third Man Records logos stamped on the foot sock add to their uniqueness.

The boot features an angled masonite heel measuring 1.5 inches, a front zipper, yellow triple-strap design with silver buckles, quality yellow stitching, and leather uppers that add the right amount of polish. The Idol Jack boots will be available on Friday and retail for $499. The boots come in women’s and men’s sizes.

Hailing from Vancouver BC, Canada, Fluevog has been designing and producing his unique shoes since 1970. In the last few years, the company has been using eco-friendly materials, like vegetable-tanned leathers, where possible. The brand also introduced their 100 percent biodegradable Angel Soles, which are made from Hevea milk.
