Where do Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones rank?

Where do the Indianapolis Colts’ Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones land in Pro Football Focus’ fantasy football quarterback rankings heading into the 2025 NFL season?

PFF’s Jonathon Macri recently ranked and put each quarterback into a tier for the upcoming fantasy season. Richardson and Jones both found themselves in Tier 5–there were only six–and it was titled, “Starters with question marks.”

Richardson was ranked 29th overall, and Jones was 33rd.

“Anthony Richardson’s fantasy upside is undeniable due to his elite rushing prowess; however, he’s dealt with numerous injuries, poor play, getting benched, is hurt again, and Daniel Jones may very well start the season for the Indianapolis Colts,” wrote Macri.

“On the chance that Richardson does get the starting job, he offers enough value for fantasy that he comes out ahead of Jones in the rankings, but there’s still a concern for him being on a short enough leash that he might not be the starter for the entire season anyway. For that reason, it’s very difficult to believe in Richardson enough – even with the upside – for him to crack the top-24 at his position right now.”

Jones presumably holds the upper hand right now in this quarterback competition after taking the majority of the first-team reps during offseason programs with Richardson sidelined with a shoulder injury.

However, what happened in early June won’t solely determine who the Week 1 starting quarterback is, so the competition certainly isn’t over and will resume once training camp arrives. Richardson said recently that he will be available for training camp–although, after missing time, he will have to hit the ground running.

From a fantasy football perspective, if you’re going to take a swing on one of these quarterbacks, the challenge in doing that is twofold. For one, who will be starting Week 1 still has to be determined, and in addition to that, both players have been inconsistent over the last two seasons. So who knows what to expect from either quarterback.

Now, what Richardson and Jones have going for them is that around them are some really good skill position players. The Colts were the only team in the NFL last season to have three different wideouts each eclipse 800 receiving yards. Then, in the backfield, is Jonathan Taylor, and Tyler Warren was also added to the mix this offseason.
