Which conference produced more picks?

A historic year of SEC basketball saw the league lead the way in the 2025 NBA Draft.

On Friday after the conclusion of the first and second rounds, the SEC’s associate commissioner of men’s basketball Garth Glissman shared a breakdown of how conferences stacked up against each other, including the Big 10, ACC, Big East and Big 12.

Of 46 college players selected in this year’s draft, over 28% came from the SEC.

Thirteen student-athletes from SEC programs signed contracts during the draft at the Barclays Center at New York on Wednesday and Thursday.

Among them were first-rounders Tre Johnson (Texas), Jeremiah Fears (Oklahoma), Collin Murray-Boyles (South Carolina), Asa Newell (Georgia), as well as second-rounders Johni Broome (Auburn), Adou Thiero (Arkansas), Chaz Lanier (Tennessee), Alijah Martin (Florida), Koby Brea (Kentucky), Amari Williams (Kentucky) and Jahmai Mashack (Tennessee). The reigning national champion Florida Gators led the way with three picks for the first time since 2007, sending Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin and Will Richard.

The Big 10 was the next conference to have sent the most players to the NBA with ten from eight schools.

Four ACC schools produced eight players in this year’s draft, highlighted by four for Duke.

The Big East was credited with five players and the Big 12 with four.

Even more names from the SEC signed undrafted free agent contracts, including, but not limited to, all four of Alabama’s draft-eligible players.
