Origin Story: After a childhood trip to visit the atelier of Rohit Khosla, a pioneer in Indian fashion, Mody Shwetambari’s love and curiosity for all things design were born. At the age of 17, she moved to New York to study Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She would go on to spend time living in Paris, where she earned her MBA in luxury brand management from ESSEC Business School, before returning to New York to start her eponymous label, Shwetambari.

Each of her collections starts with original artwork from her colorful paintings — now a signature element of the brand. With offices in Mumbai and New York, the designer now shuttles between the two cities, where she continues leading Shwetambari into a new generation of luxury.
