What: A premium olive oil brand that also makes skin-, body- and hair-care formulas centered on olive oil’s many benefits.

Price Range: $14 – $240

Founders: Alison and Jay Carroll

Origin Story: Wonder Valley was founded in 2014 around one product: California extra virgin olive oil. The brand’s goal was to “spark a conversation around domestic olive oil and to bring it to a new audience.” The oil quickly became a “cult-favorite” and representation of the perfect union of the founders’ two backgrounds: Alison had served as the marketing director for the California olive oil council, while Jay had experience as a creative director, former head of global concepts at Levi’s and hotel partner at El Rey Court.

In the years since, Wonder Valley has put its antioxidant-rich olive oil to use as a hero ingredient in a growing collection of skin, body and hair care. The founders believe that, “from a formulation perspective, there can be no greater potency, vitality and quality control than producing the key ingredient yourself.”

Stockists: Whole Foods (in-store), Erewhon (in-store), Happier Grocer (in-store), Revolve, Amazon

Hero Products: Oil Cleanser ($65),  Hinoki Body Oil ($85)
