The Best Dressed at the 2025 ESPY Awards Went for Gold, Silver, and Bronze

Last night’s ESPY Awards saw the best athletes in their respective sports also prove they’re the best dressed. Gold medallists, trophy sweepers, goal scorers, record breakers—among them, the sartorial vibe for the night was as gilded and golden as their awards. Team USA gymnast Suni Lee, for one, scooped up the award for Best Comeback Athlete in a gold leaf adorned dress with a dramatic slit by Oscar de la Renta. Ciara, there to support husband and New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson, opted for a sparkling off-the-shoulder nude gown.

Taking place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, the ESPY Awards red carpet continued to be a more and more glitzy affair, and nominated athletes and legends in their fields weren’t afraid to play hard and go bold with their fits. American rugby union star Ilona Maher, who picked up Best Breakthrough Athlete, went for a midriff exposing, plunging black dress, while Olympic USA gymnast Jordan Chiles donned a playful, dome-cupped corset dress with a flared skirt from Cong Tri. Best Female Athlete and Best Championship Performance winner (and 11-time Olympic medallist for gymnastics) Simone Biles wore a custom Athleta gown designed by Gap’s Zac Posen, which built upon her favorite Athleta piece—an open back tee—to create an elegant, edgy, sparkling purple gown.

Menswear was also sharp and sleek. NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, styled by Yashua Simmons, went hard in a herringbone double breasted tailored coat and matching suit from the fall 2025 Ferragamo collection. It was a dapper look to match his cool and collected, heartwarming speech when accepting his award for Best Male Athlete.

Below, find the fashion moments that won big at the 2025 ESPY Awards.
