Paige Bueckers appears to confirm relationship with former UConn teammate Azzi Fudd

Over the past few months, Internet sleuths speculated Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers and her former teammate, University of Connecticut guard Azzi Fudd, were in a relationship.

Those rumors were apparently confirmed Thursday, as Bueckers participated in a TikTok video asking how well she knew her D1 girlfriend. Bueckers agreed to take part in the video, and then rattled off accurate answers about Fudd and her family.

At the end of the video, the interviewer says, “girlfriend reveal, it’s …” To which Bueckers responds, “Azzi Fudd.”

While Bueckers and Fudd haven’t officially announced their relationship, evidence wasn’t hard to find. Sleuths noticed the two holding hands after a game in July. They also called out Bueckers’ reaction to pictures of Fudd at the ESPYs.

But the most obvious evidence probably came in June, when Fudd a mirror selfie that showed the back of her phone case. Viewers quickly noticed the message on the phone case, which read “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend.”

It’s unclear when the two started dating, but the pair were teammates at the University of Connecticut. Bueckers and Fudd excelled as teammates, leading UConn to a national championship in 2025. In March, Bueckers announced she would enter the 2025 WNBA Draft. She was selected by the Wings with the No. 1 overall pick.

Despite being eligible to leave UConn for the WNBA, Fudd opted to return to UConn for one more season. Fudd was considered a possible first-round pick in the WNBA before making her decision. She’ll look to lead UConn to its first back-to-back national title since the team won in 2015 and 2016.

Bueckers has put up strong numbers during her first season in the WNBA. The rookie is averaging 18.4 points and 5.5 assists with the Wings. That performance earned Bueckers her first WNBA All-Star selection.
