Princess Charlene Wears White Gianvito Rossi Slingbacks in Monaco

Princess Charlene marked 20 years of Prince Albert II’s reign in a sharp pair of white slingbacks by Gianvito Rossi — a minimalist silhouette that’s gaining royal traction this summer.

Her shoes, the Ascent 55 style, were crafted in smooth white leather with a pointed toe and slingback strap. The 55mm flared kitten heel added shape without height, and a slim ankle strap fastened with a small gold Ribbon buckle, a signature of Gianvito Rossi’s strappy silhouettes.

The Ascent 55 offered a subtle contrast to the softness of Charlene’s dress: a sleeveless Oscar de la Renta midi in pale pink, finished with floral lace appliqué along an asymmetric hem. A matching belt cinched the waist.

The Princess of Monaco has favored Gianvito Rossi more than once this season. Earlier this month, she wore the brand’s flat slingback ballerinas during a family appearance in Carladez. The flats carried the same pointed shape and open heel, styled then with a pleated ivory Zimmermann dress. That appearance leaned breezy; this one read structured. The designer choice stayed the same.

She’s not the only one in rotation. Kate Middleton wore Gianvito Rossi’s Ribbon Sling 85 pumps in nude suede at Wimbledon earlier in the month — the same pointed toe, higher heel and matching ankle buckle. Jordyn Woods wore Hermès slingbacks two weeks ago in Paris, styled with capris. The profile — mid-heel, open back, sharp toe — has been everywhere this season, but Princess Charlene’s white version may be the most formal take yet.

The coordination extended beyond her own look. Her daughter, Princess Gabriella, wore white sandals with similar proportions. It wasn’t a full match, but the mother-daughter pairing carried across in tone — something Charlene has done before, especially at official appearances.

The event marked two decades since Prince Albert II officially assumed the throne of Monaco in 2005, following the death of his father, Prince Rainier III. Held at the Princely Palace in Monte Carlo, the celebration included formal appearances by the royal family, including Princess Charlene and the couple’s children, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques.
