Mets’ Francisco Lindor Makes Postgame Statement After Snapping 0-for-31 Drought

Despite having a fantastic season overall, New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor has greatly struggled in his last few performances. In his last six games before Wednesday, dating back to New York’s last game before the All-Star break, Lindor had gone 0-for-28 at the plate. Ultimately, his slump reached 31 at-bats without a base hit.

During the Mets’ 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday, Lindor snapped his hitting drought with an RBI single in the third inning. He ended the game 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run.

After snapping his hitting drought against Los Angeles, the 31-year-old made a statement and sent a message.

Even some of the best players in the game go through rough patches. This is true across every sport, and baseball is no exception. Fortunately for Lindor, it seems that this is not lost on him as he sent a simple message after Wednesday’s game.

“When you’re good, you’re good. When you suck, you suck,” Lindor said after snapping his 0-for-31 hitting drought.

While Lindor finding his groove again is a huge plus for the Mets, winning the game was the ultimate story. With this victory, they are now winners of four straight and are tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for the NL East lead.

There is still a lot of baseball left, but things are looking good for Lindor and the Mets once again. If they can continue this trend, another deep playoff run later this year may be inevitable.
