A Dôen Boutique Landed on Nantucket! Inside the Label’s Weekend-Long Celebration

Just one year after opening their boutique in Sag Harbor, the all-American brand Dôen is embarking on its next adventure—expanding into New England with a boutique in Nantucket. To celebrate their sixth store opening since launching the brand in 2016, Margaret and Katherine Kleveland took to the island with their closest friends, including Sarah Lanni (who co-hosted the dinner), Francesca del Balzo, Celine Yousefzadeh, Lilly Sisto, Laura Jung, Jalil Johnson, and more. The weekend of fun included a boat ride with lobster rolls in the Atlantic, pilates with Sheryl Tess of Core Pilates, and even a custom embroidery session with Steplane (available all summer long) at their new boutique located at 32 Main Street.

Nantucket comes as the next obvious choice for the beloved brand and sisters, Margaret and Katherine Kleveland, with the island being filled with the presence of other female-founded brands like Tuckernuck and Hill House, to name a few. “I’ve never received such a warm welcome in a place ever,” explained Margaret at dinner at the Chanticleer. “In addition to having 20 new friends, we have received the best crash course in Nantucket. Not only do we understand better the etymology of fellow brands like Tuckernuck, but also just a lot of the history of Nantucket that amazing hosts like Sarah Lanni have shown us and trusted us with.”

At the Chanticleer, the Kleveland sisters took to celebrating not only their brand’s store opening but also their friends who made their welcome to Nantucket special. All of the evening’s dinnerware was from friend del Balzo’s Porta, while Yousefzadeh of Cyk Kitchen supplied guests with their fix of caviar throughout the night. Guests included fellow women designers and founders such as Nell Diamond, Madeline Grayson, September Votta, and Isabel Wilkinson Schor, who showed their support for the sisters by mixing and matching the brand’s signature pieces with those from Hill House, Tuckernuck, and Attersee.

The introduction of a Nantucket outpost comes as a pleasant surprise and welcome to locals and frequent visitors to the island. There are already countless TikToks of the boutique in just a month after its opening, but the store in the heart of Main Street is even filled with a mix of the brand’s best-selling pieces, along with rare inventory that may be sold out online. And since its opening, the 14-mile island has slowly and steadily been starting to fill up with women of all ages wearing the brand’s signature smock dresses and romantic floral prints. At the dinner we even got a sneak peek at what’s to come in fall on the sisters including some emerald green dresses and fun striped moments.

“It’s such a happy moment, and it’s been such a happy summer celebrating my two favorite girls,” proclaimed Lanni. “All of my favorite girls and all of my favorite clothes in a place that is so special and dear to my heart.”
