Lions' Terrion Arnold Sounds Alarms With Second Injury Scare in a Week

Detroit Lions’ cornerback Terrion Arnold suffered another injury scare Tuesday morning. As exciting as his sophomore year looks, Arnold has been dealing with stuff that could become a concern for his team.

Lions reporter Colton Pouncy said that Arnold left practice early and was evaluated for a hamstring injury. The former Alabama defender missed only one game last season, as he posted 60 tackles and one recovered fumble with the NFC North franchise that posted a 15-2 record.

Coming off a season in which several key players missed time due to injuries, including Alex Anzalone, Tre’Quan Smith, Marcus Davenport and Aidan Hutchinson, seeing Arnold deal with health issues isn’t a good sign.

Considering that this isn’t the first time Arnold has suddenly exited practice, fans started calling for the Lions to make a move.

Should Lions shut down Terrion Arnold until the season starts?

Lions fans were upset to see Arnold leaving practice early, which resulted in plenty asking the team to shut him down until the regular season starts, and others lamenting that the team is already dealing with potential high-risk injuries.

“Calf last week, hammy this week. Shut him down until the season starts,” one fan said.

“Shut him down for camp, calf last week now hamstring. TA needs recovery. Let Ennis get more exposure,” a second fan wrote.

“I’m going to gaslight myself into thinking it’s a cramp so I don’t lose my mind,” a third fan said.

“He’ll be alright, early in training camp. Just has to get some rest and maintenance,” a fourth fan added.

“Shut him down!” a fifth fan said.

“we starting with these injuries early arnt we!” a sixth fan said.

The way the team trains has raised eyebrows among fans. If these reports keep coming, more will voice their frustrations. The defense suffered multiple injuries last campaign, and Arnold, a member of that group, is only playing his second year in the league.

He has a high ceiling in the league and the Lions can’t afford to put his season in jeopardy, especially not this early.

Lions dealt with another Terrion Arnold’s injury scare last week

Before he exited practice with this hamstring issue, Arnold left Thursday’s session with a strained calf. Insider Jordan Schultz reported that the team would be careful regarding when he’ll be available again, but the second-year cornerback took the field again less than a week later.

The Lions return to the field on Thursday for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
