Son of WVU legend Noel Devine could join Mountaineers

West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez revealed Thursday that the program is working to add Andre Devine, the son of Mountaineer legend and current staff member Noel Devine.

Andre Devine, a 5-foot-7, 160-pound running back, spent last season as a true freshman at Jacksonville State, where he was coached by Rodriguez. While he didn’t see game action, he gained experience in the system and could bring added depth to the Mountaineers’ backfield if the move is finalized.

A native of North Fort Myers, Florida, Devine starred at North Fort Myers High School—the same program his father once attended before going on to a standout college career at WVU from 2007–10.

The younger Devine’s potential addition would reunite him with Rodriguez and place him in a room led by his father, who is now on staff as an offensive analyst.

Rodriguez made it clear the program is still in the process of making it happen, and nothing is official yet.
