Arch Manning highlights the names on the first-team, getting the nod for the best QB in the country in 2025. The Sporting News is not alone in that take, but something that caught quite a bit of eyes. On the defensive side of the ball, Anthony Hill Jr. and Michael Taffee join Manning on the first-team. With both of them coming off All-American level years, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise. 

On the second team, the Longhorns were able to get one player on their side of the ball. Quintrevion Wisner was added as an “all-purpose” player on the second-team offense. On defense, it’s the special sophomore Colin Simmons that made the cut for the second-team. That’s one that drew some reaction from Texas fans, saying he should be on the first-team, but nevertheless, a great honor for the young pass rusher. 

Texas leads all schools with five selections and has the most first-team selections as well, with three picks. This reinforces the idea that Texas is one of the best, most talented rosters in the country. The Arch Manning hype continues to mount, and it’s not stopping anytime soon. Anthony Hill Jr, Colin Simmons and Michael Taffee will be familiar names on All-American teams in the preseason. Quintrevion Wisner will be right on there as well, although the RB group is strong across the country.
