Pancakes, Cocktails, and Cardigans: Inside Rachel Antonoff’s Breakfast-for-Dinner Party

As platters of pancakes emerged from the kitchen and guests—many dressed in Rachel Antonoff’s signature silhouettes—gathered around cheeky displays of campaign imagery, the scene at La Bonbonniere felt less like a fashion presentation and more like a boozy brunch with best friends. But that, of course, was the intention. The occasion? The launch of Antonoff’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, ushered into the world with syrup, smiles, and her signature sense of whimsy.

“I used to eat here every day when I lived around the corner,” said Antonoff, clad in a cotton-candy pink iteration of her brand’s Sylvie dress. “I was having French toast here recently and thought—oh! We should do the show here.”

Inside the nearly 90-year-old diner, Antonoff transformed the space into a shrine to breakfast-for-dinner indulgence. The cocktail menu was equally irreverent: a “shaken oat milk latte” blended Baileys Coffee Toffee liqueur with brown sugar and oat milk foam, while a whipped coffee came crowned with crushed cookies and a generous swirl of nostalgia.

“I love an event that feels like a weird, random night that becomes more than the sum of its parts,” she added.

Since the height of the pandemic, Antonoff has cast friends of the brand to portray fictional members of her extended family, often shooting campaigns in her own home. For Spring/Summer 2025, Gillian Jacobs takes center stage—joining fellow campaign alum Sarah Ramos on the night’s host committee, both dressed in skort-and-cardigan “Cupcake” sets.

The crowd—equal parts Antonoff-world and real-life chosen family—included her brother Jack Antonoff, Sarah Sherman, Alison Roman, Angelica Hicks, Susan Korn, and Cat Cohen, each there to toast the latest collection of lovable eccentricities.

“She makes clothes that actually look good on the human body—and they’re funny. She has a great sense of humour,” Sherman said while catching some air outside.

As the night wore on, the room held a buoyant buzz: easy chatter, familiar faces, and the lingering scent of cinnamon and sweets. In classic Antonoff fashion, the collection arrived with plenty of spectacle, but just as much sincerity—clothes designed for real life, worn among real friends.
