Tracee Ellis Ross embraced menswear in a Willy Chavarria suit look for her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday in Los Angeles.

The Emmy Award-nominated actress wore a pair of oversize, high-waisted charcoal gray trousers, cinched at the waist with a black belt with a small chain of keys. Ross incorporated the popular pinstripe motif, as well.

The WWD Style Awards Hollywood Trailblazer award recipient wore a pinstripe collared shirt with long sleeves and a complementary tie with the same motif. While Ross’ shirt featured a white base fabric and gray pinstripes, her tie included a black base with white pinstripes to add contrast and juxtaposition.

Ross completed her attire with black patent leather loafers, a bevy of statement rings and a pair of bold square-frame sunglasses. The actress’ hair was styled by Marcia Hamilton, with makeup provided by artist Molly Greenwald. Stylist Karla Welch, who’s also worked with Renate Reinsve and Judy Greer, curated Ross’ look.

Designer Willy Chavarria celebrated his eponymous label’s 10-year anniversary during Paris Fashion Week in January. In 2024, Chavarria was named the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year, as well as Designer of the Year at the Latin American Fashion Awards.

Ross is no stranger to styling menswear-inspired pieces. At the 2025 Met Gala, celebrating the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Ross wore a custom suit courtesy of Marc Jacobs. The look featured shades of white, fuchsia and burgundy in exaggerated proportions, along with a large statement hat.

“For me, how I dress myself is really a form of expression, and it’s one of the ways that I wear my insides on my outside,” Ross said at the WWD Style Awards in January. “It started as an armor, a way that I would feel protected, and now it’s just one of the ways I express myself and it brings me so much joy. I really feel like there’s an importance to how we express ourselves, particularly in the world that we’re living in. How I dress is one of the ways that I show up in the world and tell people how I want to be responded to.”
