Kyle Schwarber has become one of the most consistent power hitters in Major League Baseball. Schwarber, 32, who has spent time with four teams during his 11-year MLB career, has found the most individual success with his current team, the Philadelphia Phillies.

Schwarber, who launched home run No. 43 on the season during the top of the seventh inning against the Washington Nationals, received very interesting treatment from the MLB fans inside this visiting ballpark.

Fans in Visiting Ballpark Make Their Opinion of Kyle Schwarber Perfectly Clear

Schwarber sent a slider from Nationals pitcher, Konnor Pilkington, 456 feet into the second-deck of the right-field stands inside Nationals Park, for a three-run home run. This gave the visiting Phillies a 5-2 lead over the Nationals.

As he rounded the bases, fans could be heard chanting, "M-V-P, M-V-P!"

While the long-distance blast was majestic and impressive, and something any MLB fan could admire, it's not everyday the fans inside an opposing stadium start sending "M-V-P" chants toward a player on the other team.

Schwarber's statistics this season are certainly MVP-worthy. He's hit 43 home runs (first in NL), driven in 101 runs (first in MLB), and scored 83 runs (fifth in NL) while slashing .250/.373/.582. In a normal year, Schwarber would likely be a legitimate MVP contender, however, the favorite, Shohei Ohtani, has unleveled the playing field by returning to the pitcher's mound this season.

As per FanDuel Sportsbook, Schwarber currently stands as the second favorite to win the award (plus-1400). Ohtani is a massive favorite at -20000.

Despite the gap in MVP-odds, Schwarber has now hit at least 40 home runs in three of the last four seasons and has hit at least 30 home runs in seven of his 11 seasons in MLB.

Schwarber now sits at 327 career home runs which ranks No. 128 on the all-time home run list. He also ranks No. 11 in all-time home runs among active players.
