Saks Global cuts 90 jobs

Saks Global’s latest round of layoffs eliminated 90 positions within the luxury retailer’s commercial organization. The job cuts included the elimination of merchandising coordinator position as Saks Global blends the merchandising systems of Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus into an integrated system. The digital beauty specialists at Neiman Marcus were also cut. The departing group of 90 individuals represents less than 3% of the Saks Global corporate population, and 0.5% of the total Saks Global headcount. {WWD/paywalled}

Sephora reportedly cut Huda Beauty from upcoming campaign

Following the recent controversy surrounding Huda Beauty founder Huda Kattan posting a TikTok video promoting conspiracy theories about Israel (including that it was behind World War I, World War II and 9/11), Sephora has reportedly removed Huda Beauty from its upcoming artist-focused campaign. Puck’s Rachel Strugatz reports that the “Experts” campaign, which is slated to roll out in early September, will probably feature lines like Gucci Westman’s Westman Atelier, Patrick Starrr’s One/Size and Mario Dedivanovic’s Makeup by Mario. Originally, Kattan was allegedly going to be a “big anchor” of the promotion, and featured prominently in advertising. {Puck/paywalled}

Haider Ackermann’s first campaign as Tom Ford’s creative director (a role he took on in September 2024) is here. Photographed by Mark Kean, the Winter 2025 campaign spotlights colorful suiting that debuted on the Paris Fashion Week runway last spring. “This campaign, my first, grows on the spare narrative of my debut show,” Ackermann said in a statement. “The steamy mirrors and the idea of being in a private room are the same. The light is different: glaring and morning-like. There is a sense of mystery, a tense energy to the images. My characters inhabit the space with their noble personalities multiplied by the blurry reflections and refraction in the mirrors.” {Fashionista inbox}

Post Malone to launch fashion brand

Post Malone (whose real name is Austin Richard Post) is launching the Austin Post fashion brand with a runway show in Paris on Sept. 1. Few details have been released, but the brand’s invitations tease a sunset timing for the reveal of its “Season One.” The artist has previously fronted campaigns for Ugg and Skims, and has also collaborated with Crocs. {WWD/paywalled}

Indie fashion brands find retail success with hotel boutiques

A growing wave of emerging and independent labels is forging permanent, curated retail partnerships with boutiques in luxury resorts and hotels. Sporty & Rich is stocked by Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France and Le Bristol in Paris, while Palm Heights in the Cayman Islands stocks Diotima, Charlotte Chesnais, Christopher John Rogers, Tekla, Marrakshi Life and Bode. Destination hotel retail is becoming one of fashion’s most effective distribution strategies thanks to global high-spend travelers looking for exclusive luxury options. {Vogue Business/paywalled}
