Fans of Shara “Bullet” Magomedov may want to think twice before booking their flights to Qatar to see their favorite one-eyed pirate fight.
According to Paulo Costa, a fight the promotion had hoped to book for their Doha Fight Night event on November 22nd is no longer going to happen.
“UFC: Shara bullet will probably not be able to fighting you,” the Brazilian brawler wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Magomedov has been pretty busy in 2025, fighting twice despite being unable to compete outside of the Middle East due to the whole one functioning eye thing. There had been talks of “Bullet” and “Borrachinha” being the co-main event at the promotion’s debut Qatar show, but Shara has opted to get nose surgery instead, putting the bout in ‘not likely’ territory.
There’s also the issue of Qatar becoming the latest country to be bombed by Israel. They unleashed a surgical strike yesterday (Tue. Sept. 9th) to try and wipe out Hamas leadership invited to the country by the United States of America to work out a peace deal to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
UFC Qatar goes down from the Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena and features Jan Blachowicz vs. Bogdan Guskov, Bekzat Almakhan vs. Ilia Topuria’s brother Aleksandre Topuria, and Alex Perez vs. Asu Almabayev. A main event for the card has yet to be announced, and now the promotion is left looking for a co-main as well.
At this point it’s unclear whether the promotion is still looking to have Costa on the card. We’ll keep you updated as the card continues to grow.
