A rare pair of Adidas Kobe sneakers worn by both Kobe Bryant and LeBron James is set to return in 2026 for its 25th anniversary.
The Adidas Crazy 2 USA was originally worn by Bryant during the season-opening game of the 2001-02 NBA season and was intended as a tribute to the victims of 9/11. James then wore the sneakers, which were a limited release, in a much hyped-high school matchup against Carmelo Anthony in 2002.
Prints of the American flag take over the blocky sneaker, with wavy red and white stripes running down the lateral and medial sides and stars sitting above the foot. Blue paneling is then used for the toe box and collar, while the outsole is rendered in black.
Renamed as the Crazy 2 following Bryant’s departure from Adidas, which he paid $9 million out of pocket to obtain, the Kobe 2 was the final sneaker to release under his Adidas line. Despite what the name would suggest, it’s actually the fifth Adidas Kobe sneaker, following the KB1 through KB3 and the Kobe 1.
The Crazy 2 features a minimalist molded upper. Branding was pared down compared to its predecessor, with the sleeker lines inspired by the Audi TT Roadster.
Earlier this year, Adidas reintroduced the Crazy 2 as a retro model for the first time since its original release in stores.
The Adidas Crazy 2 USA will release in June 2026, likely through Adidas’ website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is not confirmed, but the model typically goes for $160.
