Jenna Ortega has arrived at the 2025 Emmys.
After a fashion-filled press tour promoting Wednesday Season 2, Ortega pivoted away from method dressing for Sunday’s awards show. Instead, she opted for one of the standout looks from Sarah Burton’s debut collection for Givenchy: a broken chandelier top composed of a variety of crystals and pearls, paired with a low-waisted black maxi skirt with a thigh-high slit and strappy black Louboutin platforms. (Worry not—Ortega still retained her gothic glam with her hair and makeup.)

Going sheer at the Emmys is something of a theme for Ortega. The actor was nominated last year for her role of Wednesday Addams in Wednesday, earning a nod in the outstanding lead actress in a comedy series category. For the 2024 Emmys, she ditched Wednesday’s signature all-black look for a structured, semi-sheer tea-length Dior dress, embroidered with small purple flowers.
Though the naked dress trend seemed to take a dip after a banner year in 2024, there has been a concerted effort to keep it alive. Last week, Margot Robbie attended the London premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey in a sheer Armani Privé dress covered in beads, sequins, and rhinestones. Dakota Johnson followed suit at the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner that same night, wearing a sexy black lace Gucci dress over black underwear. It seems like Jenna Ortega, in her sheer 2025 Emmys look, is in excellent company.
