SPORTS ROUNDUP: Lady Maroons bounce back with district win | Sports

The Pulaski County Lady Maroons were back at their home field on Monday evening to take on the Casey County Lady Rebels in a 47th District contest. Despite an overwhelming advantage in time of possession, the Maroons held just a 1-0 lead at the half before exploding for four second half goals in a 5-0 shutout victory.

Both Addisyn Dopp and Bella-Cate Dugger had shots on the goal over the first few minutes before Dopp connected from beyond the top of the box in the seventh minute, giving the home team a 1-0 edge. The ball was consistently on the Maroons’ side of the pitch for the remainder of the half, with Vera Monroe, Maycee McQueen, Reagan Davis, Emily Purcell, Dugger, Dopp and Aubrey Richardson all having shot attempts over the final 30 minutes. However, Pulaski still held their 1-0 lead heading into the break.
