The Cleveland Browns have two rookie quarterbacks, and this is probably a lost season.

Even with that all considered, they're starting 40-year old Joe Flacco at QB, and head coach Kevin Stefanski said this week that he isn't considering a quarterback change for Week 3.

But in reality, this doesn't have anything to do with the specific rookies, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Instead, the problem is with the Browns' overall talent.

Specifically, the players on the rest of the offense aren't good enough, and it could doom one of the rookies to immediate failure if Cleveland isn't careful.

Here's how ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi explains it:

"The Browns' offense has issues across the board, including a nonexistent running game (tied for 26th in yards per carry), poor pass protection (23rd in pass block win rate) and plenty of drops (tied for the league high with five)."

It's definitely fair for the Browns to be careful.

Neither Gabriel (No. 94 pick) nor Sanders (No. 144) was drafted at a spot that they demand immediate starts.

The only way either will succeed is if the Browns drop them in a favorable situation, and right now, it just doesn't feel that favorable.

One, or both, will see starts before the end of the season, almost for sure. But Cleveland will likely choose a much more friendly matchup than Week 3's clash with the fierce Packers defense.

Even then, it might not work out. This isn't a great spot to make a first NFL start in.
