What 2027 Recruits Has Gonzaga Reached Out To?

During this open recruiting period, Gonzaga’s coaching staff has been visiting three notable 2027 recruits across the nation. It’s never too early (or too often) to make a stamp on these young talents’ recruitment by just checking in on them.

6-5 shooting guard Demarcus Henry

Out of Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona (the same academy that Davis Fogle competed for in his senior season; he transferred in from Mater Dei), the four-star recruit ranks as the No. 22-ranked overall player in the 2027 class (per Rivals). Along with the Zags, USC, Utah, and Ohio State also paid a visit to Henry.

His brother, Chris Henry Jr., has committed to the Buckeyes for football as a wide receiver. His father, Chris Henry, played wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals and passed away in 2009. Adam “Pacman” Jones actually stepped up and helped raise his children after his untimely death.

6-9 center Darius Wabbington

On the same trip to Arizona, two of Gonzaga’s assistant coaches went to see Wabbington for the second time in Phoenix, according to Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten. While the Zags have taken a liking to the four-star product, so has USC. He’s ranked as the No. 26 recruit in all the land (per Rivals)and plays for Sunnyslope.

6-6 point guard Dooney Johnson

Zach Norvell was on-site with the versatile prospect in Milwaukee, along with Wake Forest and Marquette. Representing Milwaukee Juneau as well as Team Herro on the Nike EYBL circuit, the four-star ranks as the No. 74 prospect.

Johnson is the cream of the crop of these 2027 names that the Zages are investing their time in, due to his ability to play multiple positions. His primary recruiter has been Brian Michaelson.

In other 2027 Gonzaga recruiting news, Jalen Davis announced he will be taking an official visit to Washington this weekend from September 19th-21st. The Zags offered the 6-2 combo guard out of Bremerton, Washington, back in July. Davis is a four-star recruit, the No. 16-ranked overall player and the top prospect coming out of the state of Washington (per Rivals).
