“I can’t think of anyone better” – Jason Cundy makes shock claim about current Chelsea star

Jason Cundy believes Pedro Neto is better than any other right winger in the Premier League at this point in time.

Neto joined Chelsea in the summer of 2024 from Wolves in a deal worth £51.4m, and took a bit of time to get settled into life at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Portugal international finished the season strongly, before putting in a series of impressive performances at the Club World Cup.

Neto has started all four of Chelsea’s Premier League games this season, and has very much locked down a place in Enzo Maresca’s starting line-up.

The Portuguese has played on both the left and right wing in the opening matches, although his best position is arguably on the right.

Neto is now showing the form he produced at Wolves and Cundy believes he’s as good as any right winger in the Premier League right now.

“He’s as good as any wide man right now in the country,” he told talkSPORT.

“I’m putting him right up there. I can’t think of anyone better, find me a better wide man out on the right than Neto. I’m waiting.”

Neto might be one of the first choices in the Chelsea team currently, but Brazilian sensation Estevao Willian is knocking on the door.

The teenager is Neto’s main competition on the right hand side, and if he continues performing how he has done, then Maresca has got a big decision to make.

It’s a long season so there will be plenty of opportunity for both players, but it’s poised to be a fascinating battle.
