Top reactions to Week 3 win vs. Raiders

The Washington Commanders scored a combined 39 points in their first two games against the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers. Washington won one game and lost another. On Sunday, the Commanders scored 41 points in a 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and they did it without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Marcus Mariota made his first start since 2022 on Sunday and completed 15 of 21 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 40 yards and another score in Washington’s win. As a team, the Commanders rushed for 201 yards, the second time in three games that they’ve rushed for over 200 yards. And they also did it with two new starting offensive linemen. Andrew Wylie started his first game at right guard, replacing Nick Allegretti, while Chris Paul started in place of Brandon Coleman at left guard.

The Commanders were mostly excellent on special teams, too. Rookie wide receiver Jaylin Lane returned a punt 90 yards for a touchdown, and Deebo Samuel returned the opening kickoff 69 yards to set up the first touchdown. Matt Gay did miss another field goal, but also made two, including a 56-yarder.
