Another week of the fall high school sports season has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.

Last week, Taunton golf extended its winning streak to 5 matches, while Bridgewater-Raynham soccer scored a big win over Diman and Bristol Aggie cross country had a top 20 finisher at the MSTCA Frank Kelley Invitational.

The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-14 winner is Bridgewater-Raynham soccer’s Kevin Moreira, receiving 94% of the vote. Bristol-Plymouth cross country’s Nathan Gagne came in second while Taunton cross country’s Jordan Trucchi was third.

Only players from teams that submitted stats to the Gazette or made them readily available online are featured in this poll. Soccer

Marcos Tavares, Taunton

Tavares had a goal against Franklin.

Kevin Weaver, Bridgewater-Raynham

Weaver had a pair of goals against Diman.

Cross Country

Brett Gifford, Bristol Aggie

Gifford finished 19th in the Freshman 3K (11:04.99, personal best) at the MSTCA Frank Kelley Invitational- Smalls Schools.

Nathan Gagne, Bristol-Plymouth

Gagne was the top overall finisher (19:36) against Norfolk Aggie.

Hawkyns Pray, Dighton-Rehoboth

Pray finished 54th in the Senior 3K (11:07.87, personal best) at the MSTCA Frank Kelley Invitational- Smalls Schools.

Golf

Logan Gallinger, Taunton

Gallinger shot an even par of 36 against Stoughton.

Ian Carvalho, Bridgewater-Raynham

Carvalho shot a 40 (+4) against Apponequet.

Charlie Rosa, Dighton-Rehoboth

Rosa shot an even par of 36 against Bourne.
