The fashion and beauty industries are filled with interesting people from all over the world who have great taste — the types you can rely on for excellent travel recommendations. So, we’re asking them about their favorite food, shopping and wellness spots in their cities. Consider this series your fashion and beauty person’s guide to travel.
When Karelle Golda moved to Jackson Hole half a decade ago, she didn’t just get a new zip code. She found a place that would come to shape the creative identity of Halfdays, the women’s outdoor apparel brand she co-founded alongside Ariana Ferwerda and Olympic skier Kiley McKinnon.
“Jackson Hole has been my home for the past five years, and it’s intertwined with the story of Halfdays,” says Golda. “We’ve skied here, brainstormed over waffles and, most recently, launched a collection with the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. Digging into the bar’s archives for the collaboration was a reminder of just how much character and storytelling lives in this town.”
That blend of grit and heritage, with equal parts adrenaline and Americana, is exactly what makes Jackson Hole such fertile ground for a brand like Halfdays, which started with fashion-forward ski gear and has since evolved into a year-round outdoor lifestyle label. “From the beginning, we were in constant conversation with our community,” Golda explains.”Women told us they wanted the same inclusive, functional, stylish gear for hiking, traveling and everyday life — not just skiing. Listening to them is what pushed us to evolve.”
For Golda, the relationship between place and brand goes beyond aesthetics. It’s about ethos. “Jackson has the hardworking grit of a true mountain town, living right alongside world-class food, art and culture,” she says. “That balance is also at the heart of Halfdays, where performance and style live side by side.”
Below, Golda shares her must-visit spots around town, from where to eat huckleberries to the one Pilates class that keeps her grounded (literally).

What’s one dish everyone who goes to Jackson Hole should try?
For me, it’s huckleberries. They grow wild in the Tetons and are a true hallmark of summer here — whether you’re having a cone at Moo’s, picking up Tram Jam at the farmers market, or spotting them on a hike.
What’s your favorite place to get breakfast in Jackson Hole?
Persephone Bakery is my favorite breakfast spot. They open bright and early at 7:00 a.m., and their breakfast burrito hits the spot every time, though it’s hard to resist grabbing a pastry, too.
Favorite place for lunch?
Healthy Being is my go-to for lunch. Their salad bowls and cold-pressed juices are light, fresh and exactly what I want in the middle of an adventure-filled day.
Best place for coffee?
For coffee snobs, I always recommend Overview. It’s right at the base of the mountain ski resort, so you can sip your latte while taking in the views on the gondola.
What’s your favorite spot to get dinner in Jackson Hole?
Glorietta is a favorite of ours in Jackson. The décor is beautiful, the vibe is always fun and the menu is consistently incredible.

If you were to plan a staycation for yourself, where would you stay?
The Wort Hotel. The rooms are filled with historic Western character; it has that old-school saloon feel, and you’re just steps from everything in town.
What’s one tourist attraction you think is well worth the visit in Jackson Hole?
In the summer, the Jackson Hole Rodeo is a must. It brings together history, cowboy culture and pure adrenaline as riders fly out of the chutes. Once the arena closes, everyone heads to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar to keep the night going.

Where do you shop in Jackson Hole? What do you think are the most unique stores/boutiques?
I have a few favorites I always return to. For designer fashion, Habits near the Town Square and Rodeo up on the mountain are my go-tos. For vintage, Womenfolk is unmatched; think one-of-a-kind archival Ralph Lauren and pieces you’d never stumble across anywhere else. And if I’m in the mood for something truly personal, Midnight Lunch is the place.
What’s your top wellness destination in Jackson?
Whenever friends ask about wellness in Jackson, I send them straight to Rolling Reformer Pilates. Jess Grim, who runs it, is a physical therapist, so the classes are restorative for your body, not only calorie-burning.

What’s your favorite day trip to take from Jackson Hole?
Grand Teton National Park is my go-to day trip from Jackson. In the warmer months, I’ll hike Phelps Lake or horseback ride at Poker Flats; in winter, it’s backcountry skiing through untouched powder.
