The Spring 2026 runways in Milan featured all the luxurious materials (leather, silk), glamorous flourishes (fringe, sequins), elevated accessories (leather goods and scarves) and dedication to craft (intricate weaving, embroidery) one expects from the Italian houses. But with new talent infiltrating the city, there were also a number of fun, unconventional touches permeating the runways.
This is all reflected in Milan Fashion Week’s standout trends. From the prominent use of orange, to an obsession with disheveled, bra-baring looks, keep scrolling to see them all.
Orange You Glad?
Few people would describe orange as a particularly flattering or versatile color, so the fact that it showed up in so many collections — including influential heavy hitters like Prada, N.21, Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta — is significant. Are they all just angling to dress Taylor Swift?

Midnight Blue
Cool light blues have been all over the Spring 2026 runways, but several Milan designers focused on the opposite end of the blue spectrum, creating full outfits in the deepest, darkest, inkiest midnight shades.

Weave Been Had
Louise Trotter went all-in on Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato technique for her debut at the house, but she wasn’t the only one. Intricately woven leathers, knits and other materials made for show-stopping pieces on a whole slew of runways, from Tokyo James to Fendi to Tod’s.

My Sleeves Are Tied
In addition to utilizing fashion’s favorite styling trick of tying a sweater around one’s shoulders, Milan labels like Versace, The Attico and Anteprimo showed various long-sleeve tops tied around the waist, which added a casual, slightly disheveled touch to each look.

Additional Baggage
Schlepping is in, according to Milan labels like Missoni, Moschino and Emporio Armani, who sent models down the runway carrying multiple bags at once. Creatively, Fendi and Prada showed singular handbags that give the illusion of being one bag inside another.

Spring in Bloomers
Fashion will never tire of a no-pants moment, it seems. This season, several Milan designers went with bloomer-like short shorts banded at the thigh. Prada’s candy-colored versions are a standout.

Peek-a-Boob
Several Italian houses followed an elegantly disheveled approach to runway styling, which resulted in countless cardigans, shirts, blazers and dress sleeves casually falling open to reveal undergarments. The look was more intentional and polished at Jil Sander, where perfect oval cut-outs on dresses revealed matching triangle bras underneath.
