NFL Week 4 Players of the Week winners in the AFC and NFC announced

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd, and New England Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones are the AFC Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 4

(AFC) Offense – Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, winning 37-20. Mahomes completed 25 of 37 passes for 270 yards and 4 touchdowns. He threw zero interceptions and had a passer rating of 124.8. It was Mahomes’ 18th career game with 4 touchdown passes—the most ever for a player in their first nine seasons. It marks the 11th time that Mahomes has won the award.

(AFC) Defense – Devin Lloyd, Jacksonville Jaguars

In the Jaguars’ 26-21 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, linebacker Devin Lloyd had 8 total tackles, a tackle for a loss, and 2 interceptions. This is the first time that Lloyd has won the Defensive Player of the Week award. Lloyd was also the only player in the AFC to record multiple interceptions on the day.

(AFC) Special Teams – Marcus Jones, New England Patriots

Jones set a Patriots single-game record with 167 punt-return yards in New England’s 42-13 win over the Carolina Panthers, including an 87-yard punt-return touchdown in the first quarter, tied for the third-longest in the NFL this season. Jones is only the second player ever to win multiple Player of the Week awards from the University of Houston.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, and Chicago Bears defensive back Josh Blackwell are the NFC Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 4

(NFC) Offense – Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams

Nacua’s 170 yards receiving against the Colts were the most so far this season. This is the second Offensive Player of the Week award for Nacua, and definitely not the last. He has 42 receptions so far this season, tying him for the most all-time through the first four games of a season with Cooper Kupp and Michael Thomas.

(NFC) Defense – Quinyon Mitchell, Philadelphia Eagles

Mitchell allowed only a 39.6 passer rating this past weekend, with eight passes defended, only giving up two catches on nine targets for a total of six yards. This is his first time winning the award.

(NFC) Special Teams – Josh Blackwell, Chicago Bears

Blackwell blocked the Raiders’ attempt at a 54-yard game-winning field goal on Sunday. This is Blackwell’s second time winning the award.
