The fashion and beauty industries are filled with interesting people from all over the world who have great taste — the types you can rely on for excellent travel recommendations. So, we’re asking them about their favorite food, shopping and wellness spots in their cities. Consider this series your fashion and beauty person’s guide to travel.
After almost a full month of fashion shows, star-studded front rows and trendspotting, we’ve officially reached the final stop of Fashion Month in Paris. Just a few days in, and the images of showgoers trotting between appointments with a croissant in hand and the sparkling Eiffel Tower backdrop of the Saint Laurent show already have me itching to plan my next trip to my second-favorite city in the world.
Beyond being an international fashion capital, Paris arguably boasts some of the most delectable pastries, incredible restaurants, top-tier shopping and gorgeous scenery, from the Tuileries to the graffiti-covered streets of Montmartre. But one of the greatest things about the French city is that, no matter how many times you’ve been, there’s always more to discover.
To put together a balanced itinerary of fashion-forward spots and classic Parisian outings, Fashionista spoke to Sophie Hersan, co-founder and fashion director at Vestiaire Collective, a digital luxury resale platform.

Originally from the Champagne region of France, Hersan moved to Paris at the age of 18 to attend fashion school, but she had already been traveling to the city throughout her childhood. Growing up, she says she’d “go to Les Bains, to Le Boy — a gay club — and to Le Palace. Paris was ultra-trendy at the time, filled with the entire fashion crowd. It was an inspiring, creative city. I loved coming here to soak up that fashion energy.”
As Vestiare Collective’s latest Paris Fashion Week pop-up draws influencers and editors eager to borrow pre-loved luxury goods, Hersan shares her favorite neighborhood joints to grab post-show dinners, the cafés she’s most loyal to, her go-to places to shop and more.

The best tourist activity is to stroll from the Louvre Pyramid, through the Tuileries Garden, all the way to the Eiffel Tower. Do it at golden hour and arrive just as the tower begins to sparkle.
