Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Spring 2026 Ready to Wear, Fashion Show & Collection Review

Andreas Kronthaler, like many designers (and others), is seeking optimism in a chaotic world.

For spring 2026, he looked at things that brought him joy: beach time on a Sicilian island in the summer when he lived in Milan, some very old friends of the house, and the sunflowers he sees from the balcony of the brand’s London studio.

“I look out the window in the morning, and I see them. They are incredible at the moment. They just make you happy,” said Kronthaler backstage.

At L’Institut de France, he started the collection with seductive Flintstone-meets-Renaissance seaside attire on a raised runway with guests marveling from all the angles as if it were the Coliseum. It then gradually moved to Westwood wardrobe staples: punk-influenced tailoring, snatched corset dresses by by , bold prints that can be found in any Italian market, and androgynous tactile knits.

He bestowed show-stopping looks on industry icons such as Heidi Klum, Isabeli Fontana, Carmen Kass, and Simonetta Gianfelici, who walked many Westwood shows back in the ’90s.

“It’s like a boudoir as well as the beach. I think it’s something you want to wear to have a bit of fun, to dress up, because we are living in a world of great change,” added Kronthaler.

“Boudoir” was the name of the collection, as well as the brand’s new fragrance, hitting the market in November. Kronthaler said the scent was inspired by old perfumes from Versailles Osmotheque that he and Westwood loved.

The designer added that the concept of a boudoir is all about being one’s most truthful self, just as he tries to stay truthful to his late wife’s legacy – the punk spirit lives on.
