With the Day of the Dead, better known as Día de Muertos, fast approaching, Nike, Inc.’s Jordan Brand is readying a collection of themed sneakers for the Mexican holiday which include one of Michael Jordan’s most popular models. 

Nike’s official e-commerce product images of the Air Jordan 4 Retro SE “Somos Eternos” have surfaced which show the upcoming release in detail. The pair dons a Soft Pearl/Metallic Gold/Light Bone/Jade Horizon colorway, but the earth tone and metallic shades used on the special-edition style are only the beginning of the story. 

Packed with intricate details, the Somos Eternos pair begins with a pearl leather base that’s covered in a gold floral print with a faded finish. Raw leather edges compliment the neutral look, which adds touches of speckled jade at the midsole and on the shoe’s signature support wings. At the tongue, the model’s traditional woven Jumpman logo is replaced with a metallic gold tag stamped with skull and sun motifs. As an added bonus, the laces are equipped with a removable metallic gold charm. 

The Somos Eternos Air Jordan 4 Retro SE is part of a wider Day of the Dead-themed collection which will include an Air Jordan 1 Low and a Jordan Session. In recent years, Jordan Brand has emphasized Latin representation with special releases that celebrate community and culture. Just last month, the brand issued a Lucha Libre-themed Air Jordan 3 El Vuelo sneaker.

Given the special-edition distinction and included accoutrements, this Air Jordan 4 Retro SE will come at a slightly higher retail price than typical versions of the model. The pair is expected to be priced at $230 when it arrives this holiday season at select Jordan Brand retailers. The style code for the upcoming release is IM8116-047.
