PAL-ENTINO: Colman Domingo and Pamela Anderson made fast friends sitting side-by-side at the Valentino show Sunday afternoon.
Domingo, a house brand ambassador who has worn several custom looks at recent events, is a show regular. But for Anderson, it was her first Valentino show. “But I’ve always been a fan,” she said.
The two actors have crossed paths a few times, but the snug seating made them cozy up. “Now we’re like this,” Domingo said as he hugged her close. “Now this is my old buddy Pam.”
Domingo is hot off of two back-to-back Oscar nominations and heading into production on a biopic about Nat King Cole. But in the front row he sang the praises of Anderson’s work.
“What a blessing. I’m such a fan of Pamela’s work. To watch her just truly evolve, and I think that’s all we really want as actors is to be learning from each other,” Domingo said. “Watching ‘The Last Showgirl’ I felt like I saw all this volume and simplicity.”
“That’s a great compliment coming from you,” she said. As for the most recent “Showgirl” in town: Does she have a favorite song from Taylor Swift’s new album? Anderson demurred and said she hasn’t listened to it yet.
K-pop star Choi Soobin made his first solo appearance at Paris Fashion Week for Valentino, and has been spotted decked head-to-toe in the brand at recent appearances. The TXT group leader gamely posed for pics and videos with fans, looking princely clad in a herringbone riding jacket, bowtie-neck and jeans, though he had to take a short break for a breather when the lines reached a few rows deep.
Lana Del Rey made an entrance with new husband Jeremy Dufrene in a lavender dress and pointy, almost bridal, white heels. As the two paraded down the center of the venue, Del Rey was eager to show off her ring. “I love my ring,” she said, turning to show it for the cameras as she thanked other guests who were offering congratulations.
Singer Clairo was ready to take flight in a butterfly-themed gown, which echoed a similar look she wore to the last Valentino show. She paired it with some sky-high platforms, which were her favorite part of the looks.
“They’re just so girly and so fun,” she said of creative director Alessandro Michele’s designs. “They make me feel really like a woman. They make me feel like I’m stepping into a different part of myself, which is cute. It makes me feel really like, adorable,” she said.
