Some of the top stars from WWE’s NXT brand and TNA face off for the ultimate bragging rights. Who will stand tall at the Showdown event?

The event coincides with the partnership between WWE and TNA. It has resulted in talent sharing, new champions, and eyes on both brands.

Two top bouts will be traditional Survivor Series tag team matches. The match, featuring four to a team, ends when everyone from one team gets eliminated. Of note, Kelani Jordan, an NXT talent, is representing TNA.

Meanwhile, Matt and Jeff Hardy, TNA World Tag Team Champions, look to once again hold WWE tag team gold.

What is the NXT vs. TNA Showdown 2025 special episode?

The Showdown event is a culmination of the promotional partnership between TNA and WWE’s NXT brand that started in 2024. TNA talent appeared on WWE programming, while NXT stars appeared in TNA. Eventually, WWE talent would win TNA belts.

The partnership took full effect around late August, with several wrestlers from TNA and NXT “invading” each other’s shows.

Currently, NXT stars Trick Williams and Kelani Jordan hold gold in TNA.

The event was originally called “Invasion,” reviving the WWE/WCW event from 2001. However, the event coincided with the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, and following backlash, was later rebranded to “Showdown.”

NXT vs. TNA Showdown date, start time & location

• Date: Tuesday, October 7
• Start time: 8 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. PT
• Location: WWE Performance Center – Orlando, FL

NXT vs. TNA Showdown will be on October 7 from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. The event starts at 8 p.m. ET, the standard start time for NXT events. 

The Performance Center can hold between 300 to 350 fans.
