When it comes to prepping for a “high-anxiety show,” Emma Chamberlain prefers to start her day with matcha. “I don’t need espresso straight to the dome,” she says.
Chamberlain joined the likes of Meghan Markle, Isabelle Huppert, and Anne Hathaway in the front row at the Balenciaga spring 2026 show—Pierpaolo Picciolo’s debut at the house. “I feel like fashion week for me is a fun opportunity to play dress-up, experiment, wear things I normally wouldn’t wear,” Chamberlain says.
But for Balenciaga, she and stylist Jared Ellner decided to stay truer to Chamberlain’s personal style, settling on a cropped white button-up with extra-long sleeves and a pair of black capri pants, which she teamed with a black City bag and pointy-toe pumps. “I feel like it reflects my personal style the most,” she says. Though the only thing that isn’t in her wheelhouse? “They’re so low-waisted!” she exclaims. “I couldn’t be more against a low-waisted pant, but I tried them on and I was like, this is a cool look.”
Chamberlain admits that she and Ellner are “control freaks,” so going into the fitting blind was an anxiety-inducing experience. “It’s not easy to find an outfit that feels right,” she says. “It’s very much Say Yes to the Dress—it’s like you put it on and it feels right.” Ellner agrees: “It definitely feels like an extension of yourself—less of a character.” Still, while the look is closer to home, she admits she isn’t used to showing off her midriff. “Belly button reveal!”
