Leeds United Women make the very short journey down the M62 to the Accu Stadium this weekend, where an exciting West Yorkshire derby against rivals Huddersfield Town Women awaits.
After beating Blackburn Rovers 7-0 in the FA WNL Division One North, the Whites followed that victory up with wins on cup duties against York City Ladies and Norton & Stockton Ancients.
The Adobe Women’s FA Cup victory last time out on Teesside came on penalties, with forward Drew Greene believing the team can up their performance levels ahead of Sunday’s encounter.
“We spoke after the game saying that obviously we were happy with the win but we were disappointed in how we played,” she explained. “I think the first thing we really spoke about was just needing to be better.
“It was just about getting to the next round so I think we all we dug it out and ended up getting the result that we wanted.
“We spoke about going into the next game and looking at areas where we need to improve and moving forward hopefully that can help us. Our main aim is to win.
“I think that looking at the players that we have got and how much we have improved as a squad, I think that it is only right that we look at what we always can do better and how we can improve because winning is the most important thing.
“It definitely it shows how far we have come as a group. We have had a good run of games so we are looking forward to getting back into the league action.
“We know Huddersfield will be a tough game because they always are any time that we play them. They have made some good signings this season and they have picked up good results so far.
“It is always an exciting opportunity playing at any stadium but also we know that it is going to be a tough test because obviously it will be a hard game, so going to their ground is going to be very tough.
“But I know that the team are looking forward to it so it should be a really good day. Like I said before, the main goal is to come away with the three points.”
