Meghan Markle Does Power Dressing in Armani for Gala With Prince Harry

Meghan Markle embraced the royal power suiting trend in a look by the late Giorgio Armani for Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Festival in New York City on Thursday alongside her husband Prince Harry.

For the special occasion, at which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were honored with the Humanitarians of the Year award, Markle wore the mulberry silk jacket and coordinated palazzo trousers in black by the Italian brand.

The jacket featured a streamlined silhouette, with long sleeves and a single button at the natural waistline for added definition. The palazzo trousers were tailored with a semi-wide-leg design for ease of movement. She continued the monochrome, subdued elegance color scheme in black with her pointed-toe black pumps by Armani as well.

As for accessories, the “With Love, Meghan” host and As Ever founder opted to continue with her Giorgio Armani pieces, carrying a satin la prima clutch bag. She kept her jewelry relatively minimal, save for the double link chain necklace in gold by Annie Bing, which retails on the designer’s official website for $600.

Markle’s recent appearance in New York City comes after the Duchess of Sussex attended Balenciaga’s show during Paris Fashion Week. In keeping with her monochrome approach to style, Markle opted for two distinct looks, each with similar sartorial elements that unified her fashion week wardrobe.

For her front row moment at the Spanish luxury fashion house’s spring 2026 collection show on Oct. 4, Markle wore a white quiet luxury look with a flowing cape to add a touch of drama. Later on in the evening, Markle swapped her white apparel for a black dress with a similar cape motif. Both looks were also worn with a pair of black pointed toe heels by Balenciaga.

After taking a step back from her duties as a senior member of the British royal family in 2020 alongside her husband, Markle’s style has consistently gravitated toward a quiet luxury bent, with pieces by Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Loro Piana and more. The last few weeks, however, indicate a slight shift toward luxury brands with elevated modern elegance.
