Dearfoams Teams With Brigette and Danielle Pheloung on Shoe Collection

Dearfoams has teamed up with Brigette Pheloung of Acquired Style and her sister Danielle to create a limited-edition collection of fashion-forward and cozy shoes, including three signature silhouettes, which hit the market on Monday.

The New York City-based sisters collaborated closely with Dearfoams to craft the collection, which includes the $70 Maryanne Teddy Mary Jane offered in pink and gray; the $70 Madeline Luxe Teddy Loafer available in pink and black, and the $50 Jessica Pile Crossband Slide done in pink and blue. The plush shoes are decorated with details like bow and pearl embellishments.

The Pheloung sisters explained their synergy with the footwear brand and why it speaks to them.

“Dearfoams has been around for almost eight decades and has built such an incredible legacy. The brand has always been about comfort, but what we love is how they continue to evolve in such a stylish, modern way,” the sisters told FN via email. “This collaboration felt like such a natural fit for us as we were able to be so hands on with the design process. We had so much fun having meetings with the Dearfoams team in their New York office where we carefully designed these slippers together!”

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the designs of the shoes, the duo explained, “We really wanted these slippers to feel like us. We have always valued comfort and cozy moments, but we also love design and fashion, so getting to bring those worlds together with a brand like Dearfoams was really special. The slippers are girly, chic, and cute!”

Brigitte and Danielle Pheloung envision the shoes in the collection fitting into a range of situations, telling FN, “I think the customer will wear them anywhere from around the house, running out the door, or to yoga! We wanted to design slippers that feel like part of your lifestyle, not an afterthought. Our goal was to make something that transitions seamlessly, from lounging at home to stepping out for errands, while still feeling polished and put-together.”

As for their favorite style, it’s difficult to pick, but the Pheloung sisters lean toward the Maryanne Teddy Mary Jane — which can be shopped now alongside the other silhouettes.

The decades-old slipper brand has welcomed new leadership this year. Patricia Cho joined Dearfoams as vice president, head of brand marketing in July, and Justine Suh joined as president in January.

“I keep saying that we are the quietest number-one slipper brand in America,” Suh said. “So, now is the time to get a little bit louder about who we are and our brand positioning.”
