The outlet mentions that the 24-year-old centre-back may not be part of Barcelona’s plans for next season, and Real Sociedad are emerging as a potential destination for the former Manchester City defender. 

With his playing time at Barcelona limited and the Blaugrana looking to reduce their wage bill, a summer exit is looking increasingly plausible.

Not a starter at Barcelona

Garcia has had a mixed spell since returning to Barça from Manchester City. While his ability to play out from the back and his tactical awareness have always been appreciated, he has struggled to cement a consistent starting role. 

The emergence of talents like Pau Cubarsi and the importance of players like Inigo Martinez and Ronald Araujo have only pushed the defender further down the pecking order.

Real Sociedad, known for their emphasis on tactical discipline and building from the back, view Garcia as a strong stylistic fit.
