Kent State’s graduating designers had a lot on their minds leading up to the university’s 2025 fashion show. While most fashion programs hold their annual runway presentation as a one-night-only event, Kent State’s lasted for three evenings. Before that, it hosted a six-day-long Fashion Week, packed with events like a museum tour, a 3D virtual fashion show, behind-the-scenes student showcases, live fashion illustration sessions and student scholarship ceremonies.
Needless to say, a lot was happening from April 21 to 26. But if senior designers were buckling under the pressure, it didn’t show up on the runway.

From April 24 to 26, the Kent State University School of Fashion held its highly anticipated student fashion show, located in the newly opened Crawford Hall. Each night provided a new experience: Opening night offered students an exclusive preview; night two presented a lineup of students with different awards and the final show initiated industry veteran Donald J Pliner into the Kent State Fashion Hall of Fame.
Garment-wise, standout designs spanned a variety of categories, such as evening wear, knitwear, ready-to-wear pieces and bridal. Themes ranged from sustainability to body positivity to nature to gender identity.
