Leset’s Founder Designed All Her Minimalist Bridal Looks for Her Beach Wedding in Mexico

Leset founder Lili Chemla matched with Hernando “Nando” Courtright on Hinge in 2022. The algorithm was clearly on to something: Two years later, he proposed during a family vacation in St. Barths. “Like everything Nando does, it was planned perfectly,” she said.

The two married in January 2025. Their three-day Mexico beach wedding in the state of Jalisco was planned by Jeronimo Gaxiola. “I was initially terrified. I’ve seen how the planning process can take over and I wanted to avoid that,” Lili says. “Both Nando and I had a clear vision and are decisive people by nature. I think that paired with our wedding planner, who really understood what we wanted, made the process surprisingly seamless.”

Lili wore custom Leset to all her wedding events. “Comfort meets style” was important to her: She wore a simple cowl-back dress to their welcome dinner where “the speeches could be Oscar-nominated comedies.” The next night, for their welcome beach barbecue—where the couches were made of sand—she created a set hand-embroidered with organza flowers made in Paris.

On Saturday, for the ceremony, she wore a minimalist silk gown along with a pair of borrowed earrings from her mother. “The wedding dress was three layers of silk, with the outermost layer being a triple organza—raw edge and no buttons or zippers. It was the perfect balance of casual and elevated and I couldn’t have felt more myself in it,” she says. Hernando waited for her in a navy blue Armani suit on a cliff overlooking the Pacific.

Lili’s sister, Alison, and Hernando’s best friend, Alex, officiated their ceremony.

“There were laughs, tears, and a beautiful view of the ocean,” Lili says, adding that she felt “completely calm and at ease” throughout.

After the ceremony, the couple headed to dinner—held at an infinity-shaped table adorned with moody tapered candles and jungle-inspired greenery—while a band in matching Leset pajamas played. It soon turned into an “all-night dance party,” says Lili. (The mood was helped by their other reception accents—a disco ball and a red dance floor.) She changed into a sequin mini dress, hand-embroided in Italy, for the festivities.

Months later, when asked to reflect on her wedding, Lili has a simple answer: “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
