Caitlin Clark’s Pregame Outfit Redefines WNBA Tunnel Style Standards

At a tunnel walk typically filled with sneakers and athletic staples, Caitlin Clark’s choice of pointed-toe slingbacks introduced a luxe sensibility to game-day dressing. The Indiana Fever point guard wore Granite Gray Prada slingback pumps with a Zac Posen–designed GapStudio trench, skort and cropped shirt during her tunnel walk, melding sportswear and high fashion.

The WNBA star leaned into structured layering for her arrival at State Farm Arena on Thursday. The khaki twill trench featured sharp notched lapels and a double-breasted front, beneath a matching sailor skort with side-button detailing and slanted pockets. A red poplin cropped shirt, cut boxily with an exposed waistband, provided a crisp flash of color.

Clark completed the look with Prada’s Granite Gray Brushed leather slingback pumps. Cut with a pointed toe and slender back strap, the mid-height heel echoed the sharp tailoring of her outfit. Crafted in brushed leather — a Prada signature since the 1990s — the style featured a softly padded triangle logo and a geometric heel that mirrored the clean lines of her trench.

In April 2024, Clark became the first WNBA player ever dressed by Prada for the draft, arriving in head-to-toe white satin and rhinestone mesh paired with black Prada slingbacks. Stylist Adri Zgirdea explained her vision at the time: “I wanted to take Caitlin’s natural flair and bold playing style from the court to the orange carpet,” Zgirdea said of choosing head-to-toe Prada for what was the first time the Italian house dressed a player for the draft.

Earlier this week, Clark stepped out in a custom silver Nike Kobe 5 Protro sneaker during the Indiana Fever’s matchup against the Chicago Sky, debuting a style aptly named “Rookie of the Year.” The exclusive colorway nods to the WNBA’s ROTY trophy and the red uniform Clark wore while posing with the award. The sneaker features a seamless metallic silver upper, a bold red Swoosh and heel tab, and a mirror-finish heel counter that echoes the hardware in hand.
