There’s plenty of revenge to be had during the Steelers’ 2025 season — and Pro Football Focus clearly took notice, as three Pittsburgh matchups made their top 12 revenge games list.
According to PFF, the Steelers ranked first, second, and sixth for their games against the Green Bay Packers, the New York Jets, and the Seattle Seahawks, respectively.
Regarding the Packers, PFF stated the game should “top the totem pole for revenge matchups” if Rodgers signs with the Steelers. The four-time MVP hasn’t played his former team since Jordan Love took over as the Packers’ starting QB — and this Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 8 could be one of the best games of the season.
Once again, Rodgers helps the Steelers rank high in PFF’s revenge game list — as the Week 1 matchup vs. the Jets comes in at second. The former Jets QB clearly wants to show up current HC Aaron Glenn — while Justin Fields may have some revenge of his own to dish against the Steelers.
Last but surely not least, the Steelers’ third entry to PFF’s top revenge games list comes in at sixth — none other than their Week 2 matchup vs. the Seattle Seahawks. While the previous two contests focused on QBs facing their previous teams — this revenge game is focused solely on new Steelers WR DK Metcalf facing off against his former team, as described by PFF’s Bradley Locker:
“Metcalf will certainly be amped up to battle against Devon Witherspoon and Tariq Woolen in a real game, like in countless practices before.”
Here’s to hoping Rodgers signs with the Steelers in 2025 as projected — as the acquisition of the four-time MVP clearly adds extra intrigue to Pittsburgh’s schedule.
