Keke Palmer is on a vintage streak. For her second appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” airing on Thursday, Palmer wore a vintage Alexander McQueen dress designed by Lee McQueen.
Palmer wore the Supercalifragilistic belted dress in a soft, rose pink, from McQueen’s fall 2002 Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious runway collection. The tonal pink twill crêpe dress featured a leather-trimmed bodice, removable buckle belt, a delicate, frayed silk chiffon open décolleté with velvet cap sleeves and a rear hemline slit.

The dress was the focal point of her ensemble. However, Palmer has a knack for putting on a standout pair of shoes. She kept it classic this time with her footwear, selecting a pair of beige pointed-toe pumps, but with a twist. The “One of Them Days” stars wore the Jimmy Choo Ixia 95 patent leather pumps in the shade “Biscuit.”

At first glance, the Ixia looks like a classic pointed-toe pump, but there are minor details that elevate the design into a more youthful silhouette. The shoe features a contemporary drop heel and a square-cut vamp, with an elongated, pointed toe, and is set on a 95-mm heel. The shoes are available in a variety of colors and retail for $975.
On her previous visit to “The Jennifer Hudson Show” in January, she paired a black Ferragamo dress with a pair of red and gold René Caovilla Omega suede sandals featuring a copper snake spiral design. During Thursday’s appearance, Palmer and Murphy opened about working together for the first time and what it was like to film an action-comedy together alongside Pete Davidson.
Palmer returned to the daytime talk show to announce her upcoming movie, “The Pickup,” which also stars Eddie Murphy and Davidson. The film is set to premiere on Prime Video on Aug. 6, and it’s directed by Tim Story, who also helmed movies like “Barbershop,” “Think Like a Man” and “Ride Along.” Palmer is also set to star in “Good Fortune” along with Keanu Reeves and Aziz Ansari. That film is out this fall.
Palmer’s footwear choices are often intentional. For the Met Gala earlier this month, she paired a custom Vera Wang gown with Saint Laurent’s satin crepe La Scandale platform sandals. Speaking to WWD about her ensemble, she opened up about paying homage to Dorothy Dandridge with her look.
“When you’re working on something like the Met Gala, it’s all about collaborating on how everybody is interpreting the theme and, for me, when I’m thinking about Black Dandyism, I’m thinking about fashion as a tool for activism, especially when it comes to Black Americans,” Palmer said, adding that fashion is used “as a way to present and get into doors and break those negative stereotypes. Those are the kinds of things that Dorothy Dandridge did; those are the kinds of things that Coretta Scott King did and the list goes on.”
