Capri revenues fall 14.1%

On Wednesday, Capri Holdings released its fourth quarter fiscal 2025 results, which showed a 14.1% decrease in revenue to $1 billion. Michael Kors’ revenue of $694 million decreased 14.4% on a constant currency basis, Jimmy Choo’s revenue of $133 million decreased 1.5% and Versace’s revenue of $208 million decreased 19.7%. Capri Chairman and CEO John D. Idol addressed “uncertainty around the impact of tariffs on the global economic environment” in a statement. For its fiscal year 2026 outlook, Capri expects total revenue of approximately $3.3 to $3.4 billion. {Capri Holdings}

A new generation embraces Steve Madden

Following Steve Madden’s viral interview with the “Cutting Room Floor” fashion podcast hosted by Recho Omondi, online response to the footwear brand has been overwhelmingly positive. In the interview, Madden touches on his past white-collar crimes, tariffs and the brand’s reputation for copying styles from luxury fashion houses at cheaper price points. The founder is receiving praise for his blunt answers while Omondi’s Patreon (where her podcast is posted) has gained “thousands” of new subscribers. Stock in the Steve Madden brand hit its highest point in a month, and the company said Google searches for “Steve Madden” were up over 60% and website visits from organic search had increased by 10%. {The New York Times/paywalled}

Kiehl’s partners with Life Time

Skin-care company Kiehl’s is teaming up with health and wellness lifestyle brand Life Time as its official skin-care amenity partner. The partnership will launch in nine New York City Premier Life Time locations this summer, with 21 West Coast clubs rolling out later this year. {Fashionista inbox}

U.S. court blocks most Trump tariffs

On Wednesday, a U.S. trade court blocked most of Donald Trump’s tariffs in a ruling that found he overstepped his authority by imposing across-the-board duties on imports from U.S. trading partners. The court said the U.S. Constitution gives Congress exclusive authority to regulate commerce with other countries that is not overridden by the president’s emergency powers to safeguard the U.S. economy. It issued a permanent injunction on Trump’s blanket tariff orders. {Reuters}

Macy’s net sales exceed guidance in first quarter

For its first quarter results, Macy’s reported net sales of $4.6 billion, exceeding the company’s prior guidance range despite economic uncertainty. Compared to the first quarter of 2024, Macy’s net sales decreased 5.1% to $4.6 billion. Bloomingdale’s net sales were up 2.6%, while Bluemercury’s net sales were up 0.8%. Rick Caruso unveils post-wildfire reopening plan, new Elyse Walker Palisades location

Los Angeles real estate developer Rick Caruso announced a post-wildfire reopening plan on Wednesday, which includes investing private funding into the streets, lights, parks and other shared spaces that the community may use while construction continues, which is expected to cost tens of millions. The Palisades Village is still standing, with a majority of previous tenants returning and the location set for a total reopening by mid-2026.
