New York’s best-dressed turned out in their finest double denim last night for an intimate celebration of the Levi’s x Sacai collaboration. Held at the WSA building in the heart of Manhattan, the evening was hosted by campaign star Chase Sui Wonders and Sacai’s founder and designer, Chitose Abe—a duo that perfectly encapsulates the collection’s collision of American classics and avant-garde Japanese design.

Guests, a stylish mix of editors, downtown darlings, and global creatives, sipped yuzu-ginger cocktails while weaving through sculptural floral installations before sitting down to a bold, flavorful spread curated by culinary provocateurs Ghetto Gastro.

As the face of the campaign, Wonders shared how the spirit of the city shaped the shoot. “Craig McDean, the brilliant photographer, and Karl Templer, the stylist, were always telling me, ‘Pose like a boy’—like, ‘You’re James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause,’” she said. “We were shooting right in the middle of the city, with catcalls, honking, and chaos, and it felt so right. The grit, the energy—it all played into the cool of the clothes.”

That very cool defines the collection. Levi’s heritage staples—the Type I, II, and III denim jackets—are deconstructed and reimagined through Sacai’s signature lens: layered, sculptural, and unexpectedly fluid. The result is a wardrobe of hybrids that feel both timeless and thoroughly new.

The Levi’s x Sacai collection launched exclusively at Selfridges on May 26 and at Landmark Hong Kong on May 27, with a global online rollout and select in-store availability beginning today.
